Traditional symbolism and reflective questions for the twenty-four runes. Reference pages are published one at a time, only when the entry is complete. 18+ symbolic entertainment.
Runes are the letters of early Germanic writing systems, used from roughly the second century onward on stone, wood, bone and metal. Each letter also carried a name — a word such as 'cattle', 'birch' or 'hail' — and those names are the root of the symbolism read today. Zodiac Fortune Club treats them as material for reflection, not as a source of predictions.
The Elder Futhark is the oldest known runic alphabet: twenty-four characters divided into three groups of eight, traditionally called aettir. The name comes from the sound values of its first six runes — f, u, th, a, r, k. The list below follows that traditional order.
Runes without a reference page yet are listed for orientation only. We publish an entry when its history, symbolism, reflection and questions are all written and reviewed.
